Reduce your fines by engaging in approved mental health treatment

Comprehensive Mental Health Support Under the WDO Scheme

At Warming Light Counselling, we understand that financial stress and mental health challenges often go hand in hand. As an approved WDO sponsor in NSW, we provide eligible individuals with the opportunity to reduce their fines by participating in structured mental health treatment programs.

Our approach is holistic and client-centered, focusing on therapeutic interventions that not only assist in fine reduction but also promote long-term well-being. By integrating evidence-based practices, we aim to empower you to navigate life's challenges more effectively.

What is the Process?

  • Eligibility

Warming Light Counselling is an approved sponsor and can provide support if you are:

Experiencing a mental illness, intellectual disability, or cognitive impairment

A Mental Health Treatment Plan is required and is used as documentation that demonstrates you meet the criteria above.

  • Fees

To support accessibility, appointments are low cost at $100 (with a medicare rebate, your out-of-pocket cost will be $14.80 per appointment)

Following the first appointment, we will submit your WDO application online, and your fines will be placed on hold whilst you work them off via attending the therapy appointments.

  • How much can be paid off?

You can pay off up to $1000 per month in engaging in Mental Health treatment. Depending on the fine amount, we will develop a treatment schedule of either monthly or fortnightly appointments. There may be homework or suggested exercises and strategies to practice outside of the session.

  • Mental Health Treatment Plan

If you do not have a usual GP, then there are two online GP services that bulk bill (no out-of-pocket costs) that you can explore:

    Hola Health

    Qdoctor

  • Complete Intake forms

Please call or text 0482 379 587 or email hello@warminglightcounselling.au and state that you would like to engage in WDO counselling. Please provide your email address. You will then be sent intake forms to complete.

There is a lot of information needed so that we can apply on your behalf with NSW Fines. Please know this is to make the process as smooth as possible for you. But we get it, it’s a lot!

  • Attend Appointment

Once forms are completed, the next available appointment will be booked for you based on your preference. Currently you can expect an appointment within 1- 3 weeks of making contact with us.

All appointments are online or by phone.
